CLP counters TRS claim

Special Correspondent

Hyderabad: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on Saturday countered the claim of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) that the ruling party had failed in protecting the interests of Telangana.

Addressing a press conference here, Mohd.Ali Shabbir, Minister for Information, and MLAs — M. Mukesh, Malreddy Ranga Reddy, D. Rajanarasimha and B.Saraiah — ridiculed the TRS argument in this regard.

Free power supply, acceptance of the 610 G.O., major share in the irrigation projects under Jala Yagnam and spurt in the growth of the IT had benefited the region more than the others, they said.

Congress challenged

Meanwhile, the TRS challenged the Congress for a debate on the development of Telangana during the last two-and-a-half years of its rule in the State.
