Kasaragod: Minister for Health and Social Welfare P.K. Sreemathy said here on Saturday that rehabilitation and treatment of endosulfan victims would be completed in a year. The State Government had set apart Rs. 80 lakh for the purpose. She was speaking to presspersons at the inauguration of Supplyco's Onam sale near the old bus stand here. The Minister said Rs. 50 lakh would be spent on rehabilitation and the rest on other needs. This would be done by the Social Welfare Department. She said those who did not figure in the initial list and medical camp list would be considered for the package after ascertaining their claims. The Minister distributed free Onam Kits for people below the poverty line. District Collector N.A. Krishnankutty was present.
