MYSORE: The Infosys Global Education Centre here will host the fourth annual conference of Cardiological Society of India (CSI) from September 1 to 3. Organizing secretary of the conference Bhaskar K.N. said at a press conference here on Saturday that experts from all over India would discuss advances in cardiology. Continuing medical education programmes, live interactive sessions, presentation of research articles and discussions on current and controversial issues in cardiology would be held during the conference, he said. It would also include workshops on paediatric and adult echo-cardiography. Co-chairman of the Scientific Committee of the conference Arun Srinivas said that 29 original research papers in cardiology would be presented and 36 special lectures will be delivered during the conference. Dr. Srinivas, who is also Chief Interventional Cardiologist at Vikram Hospital and Heart Care Centre, Mysore, said select cardiology cases handled at the hospital would be telecast live to the audience. As part of the conference, a public education programme in Kannada "Know Your Heart" will be organised for select citizens between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Infosys. Cardiologists B.V. Rajagopal, I.B. Vijaya Lakshmi and S. Vishweshwaran will interact with the public. Those interested in attending the programme can collect entry passes from Dr. Bhaskar, Bhaskar Heart Care and Diagnostic Centre, Bamboo Bazaar (Ph: 2499188 or 2499189). The conference will be inaugurated by Governor T.N. Chaturvedi at the multiplex theatre in Infosys premises at 5.30 p.m. Co-founder of Infosys Technologies Mr K Dinesh will release the conference brochure. President of Cardiological Society of India's Karnataka Chapter B.V. Rajgopal will preside over the function.
