Power shutdown tomorrow

There will be no power supply in the following areas between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday: HBR Layout 4th and 5th blocks; Thanisandra Main Road; MSR North City; Vidyasagar; Ashwathnagar; Amarjyothi Layout; Rachenahalli; Mestri Palya; R.K. Hegde Nagar; Police Quarters; Nageswara Nagenahalli; Banaswadi Main Road; Chikka Banaswadi; PNS layout; 80 ft road; OMBR Layout; Banaswadi Village; East of NGEF; Doctors' Layout; Munireddy Layout; B. Channasandra; 1st and 2nd blocks, Nehru Road; Kammanahalli Main Road; R.S. Palya; Subbaiahanapalya; HRBR 1st Block and surrounding areas, a release said.

Designated CPIO

Mahesh Joshi, director of Doordarshan Kendra Bangalore, has been designated Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) for Doordarshan Kendra. Raghupathy N. Hegde, Sudarshanan Pillai and K. Prema are the Central Assistant Public Information Officers, says a release.

Pre-departure briefing

The Education U.K. Department of British Library has organised a pre-departure briefing for those who have received an offer for admission from a U.K. institution. Property recovered

BDA recovered an encroached property valued at Rs. 70 crore in Konanakunte village on Saturday. The property, comprising 14 compound walls and six RCC buildings spread across 8 acres and 34 guntas, was occupied by land-grabbers.

Inaugurated

The haemodialysis centre at Sri Krishna Sevashrama Hospital for treating poor patients with renal failure was inaugurated on Saturday. It has been established at a cost of Rs. 65 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, Vishvesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, Udupi, and president of Krishna Sevashrama, said the hospital had been established mainly to serve poor patients.
