HYDERABAD: State leaders of several Central trade unions, State and Central Government employees' organisations and financial sector staff unions have chalked out an agitation programme in connection with the nation-wide strike on December 14. Announcing this at a press conference here on Monday, P.J. Chandrasekhar Rao, general secretary, AITUC State Council, and V. Nageswara Rao, general secretary, State unit of Central Government Employees and Workers' Coordination Committee, said representatives of CITU, BMS, HMS, banks, insurance, defence, public sector undertakings, State NGOs' unions, the APSRTC and the Singareni Collieries had evolved the programme. Sector-wise conventions would be held in September and October, demonstrations on September 20 in all district centres and Hyderabad, a State-level convention here in November and serving of strike notice on November 29. They said the call for strike was given on July 25 by the national-level workers' convention held in New Delhi to protest against the UPA Government continuing the policies of the NDA regime.
