Rs.50 crore for Smart City land acquisition

Staff Reporter

Kochi: The Government has allotted Rs.50 crore for acquiring land for the proposed Smart City project at the Infopark in Kakkanad.

The fund will be handed over to the district administration this week itself, according to Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish.

A complaint redressal cell will be constituted for finding speedy solution to disputes that might arise during land acquisition. It will consider complaints regarding compensation to landowners. The fund is allotted for taking over 100 acres at the Infopark.

"The Government has issued a directive to speed up the acquisition process," he said.
