HYDERABAD: The city police on Monday arrested two Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders for allegedly setting an APSRTC bus on fire at Jubilee Hills on August 24. According to the police, TRS youth wing State president Karne Prabhakar and party student wing president B. Ram Mohan, accompanied by other activists, stopped a bus belonging to BHEL depot from Patancheru to Ambedkar Open University in Jubilee Hills and pelted stones at the windscreen.
Released on bail
The activists later poured fuel on the front tyre and set it afire. Some entered the bus through the back door and set a seat ablaze. "The two leaders were later released on bail after producing them in court," Jubilee Hills Sub-Inspector S. Venkat Reddy said. Meanwhile, activists led by the State general secretary M. Sudershan Rao staged a demonstration in front of the Jubilee Hills police station accusing the police of registering false cases against the leaders. They later burnt the effigy of the State Government at Jubilee Hills check-post.
