Bomb scare at school, college

BANGALORE: Work was affected at two educational institutions here on Monday following bomb scare.

The police said that around 9.45 a.m. the staff at the Police Control Room received an anonymous call that a bomb had been planted at the Government High School near Mangala Kalyana Mantapa in 8th Block, Koramangala.

The police, along with the staff of Bomb Detection Squad and sniffer dogs, searched the school premises till 11.30 a.m., they said.

There were no explosives and the call turned out to be a hoax, the police said.

Later, around 1 p.m., the Police Control Room staff another received anonymous call that a bomb had been planted at a college on SRS Road in Peenya and that it would explode in an hour.

A search revealed no explosives and the call turned out to be a hoax, the police said.
