Demonstration held on use of plastic for laying roads

HYDERABAD: K.K. Plastic Waste Management Pvt. Ltd., a Bangalore- based firm, which has been using plastic waste for laying roads, made a presentation to the top brass of MCH on Monday.

Used for many roads

Mayor T. Krishna Reddy, Commissioner Sanjay Jaju and senior officials witnessed the presentation where the firm claimed that the technique was being extensively used by the Bangalore Municipal Corporation and most of the roads were laid with bitumen mixed with powdered plastic waste.

Cost details sought

Mr. Jaju sought cost details within 10 days for testing the technique on a pilot basis and if, satisfied it would be used in on large scale, according to a press release.
