If Kolkata has earned the sobriquet the `City of Joy', Kozhikode is known as a port of truth and honesty. Kozhikode can now well claim to be a `city with a heart' too, considering that the people here go the extra mile to assist those in need. Cultural, political and social leaders got together in the city last week to ensure that the Bengali boy Manik Maji, who had accidentally reached here, reached his home in a remote village in Hugli district in West Bengal and was united with his mother Maya Maji after seven years. Reports reaching here say that the village from where Manik hailed celebrated his arrival on Sunday. Cultural leaders were in the forefront of efforts to trace the family of Manik, 14. Madhu Master, theatre person and K. Shiju, social activist, accompanied Manik to his home village.
