GULBARGA: The United Forum of Dalit Organisations and the North East Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes High School Headmasters and Assistant Teachers Association on Monday urged the State Government to implement the decisions taken in the July 21 Cabinet meeting on promoting the Assistant Teachers to the grade of Headmasters immediately. Addressing a joint press conference, forum chairman Shivaram Moga, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (Sagar) State convener D.G. Sagar and North East Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe High School Headmasters and Assistant Teachers Association president Shivasharanappa Bannikatti said here that while 25 per cent of the high school headmasters were recruited by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), the remaining were filled up by promoting Grade I Assistant Teachers as headmasters. In many instances these posts remained vacant because of the absence of Grade I Assistant Teachers in schools.
