Pondicherry: A large number of handloom weavers attached to the Centre of Indian Trade unions (CITU) took out a rally in Pondicherry on Tuesday and held a demonstration urging the Government to hike the wages paid to them. T. Murugan of the CITU here led the agitation. Among those who addressed the rally included the secretary of the Pondicherry unit of the CPI(M), V. Perumal and deputy secretary R. Rajangam.
