`Art therapy' work on display

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The Jawahar Bal Bhavan became an art gallery on Tuesday with the works of 20 underprivileged children engaged in "art therapy" being displayed. The event also marked the 80th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde.

The children are part of a school run by Akshara Foundation and art was a way they gave vent to their feelings. There was also a six feet by six feet canvas on which the children expressed themselves using colours in an unrestricted manner. The event was also used to film the activities of the children and record some of their thoughts and comments.
