Two held for diverting rice

KOLLAM: The Chavara South police arrested two persons on Tuesday on the charge of diverting rice meant for distribution through ration shops. A lorry and 60 sacks of rice were seized from the arrested persons. They were identified as Siddique and his brother Nazar. They were taken into custody while transporting the rice sacks in the lorry. Each sack contained 50 kg. of rice and was siphoned off from various rations shops. Staff Reporter
