Bangalore: Karnataka State Police (KSP) and Central Excise played scintillating hockey to share 10 goals between them in the Deccan Herald Super Division league hockey tournament here on Tuesday. Laxman Rao (23rd minute) scored first for KSP and Mandanna (34th) levelled for Central Excise as the teams went into the break 1-1. The second half was full of action as Anup Anthony (40th) put Central Excise ahead. Magesh (43rd) restored parity for KSP and Somaiah (47th) titled the scales in Central Excise's favour again. Mandanna (52nd) ensured a two-goal lead for Central Excise, but a successful penalty stroke taken by KSP's Bajanthri (53rd) and Madappa (61) brought the score on an even keel. Mandanna (65th) logged his third goal for Central Excise, but a last minute effort from Laxman Rao (69th) ensured that the honours were even. In the second match, Sports Authority of India `A' (SAI `A') defeated Pioneer Corps Training Centre (PCTC) 3-2. Varun Chinappa (18th), Naveen (27th) and Vineet Michael (49th) scored for the winner while Kalyan Kumar (23rd) and Senthil Munda (49th) scored for PCTC. Special Correspondent
