Fancied teams have it easy

KOLKATA: All the fancied teams posted easy wins in the 33rd sub-junior National basketball meet at the Netaji Indoor Stadium here on Tuesday.

In the boys' section, 2005 runner-up Rajasthan boosted its chances of progressing to the quarterfinals by winning two matches. In the girls' section, Tamil Nadu progressed to the quarterfinals comfortably by winning both its matches.

The results: Boys: Group A: AP 46 bt Chandigarh 8. Group B: Rajasthan 52 bt Jharkhand 43; Jharkhand 65 bt Assam 28; Rajasthan 57 bt Bengal 44.
