PALAKKAD: Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran has said that a model insurance scheme will be implemented to give relief to the farmers when they suffer crop loss owing to natural calamity and crash in price. Inaugurating the financial assistance to agencies that procured paddy from farmers during 2004-05 at Town Hall Annex here on Sunday, the Minister said that the Government would consider giving various subsidies and assistance to farmers as cash to save them from corruption and exploitation. He said that the proposed Paddy Board will come into force this year itself. K.K. Divakaran, MLA presided. District panchayat president Subida Ishaqand District Collector K. Ajayakumar attended.
