CHANDIGARH: The first ever sale outlet at the Wagah joint check post on the Indo-Pakistan border will be set up by the Punjab Village and Khadi Board by October end. Besides Wagah, three other such outlets would be opened in the State -- at Shambhu at the Punjab-Haryana border post, Madhopur in Gurdaspur district adjoining J and K and Abohar, on the border with Rajasthan, the Board's chairman Charanjit Singh Walia said at a Press conference here on Tuesday. These sale outlets, all to be opened next month, have been planned to give boost to the cottage industry in the state, he said. Mr Walia also said that the Board would open 896 new units in the State for which subsidies up to Rs.10 crore have been sanctioned by both the State as well as the Central governments.
