Gudur-Tirupati train to be flagged off tomorrow

Minister to lay foundation of modernisation works of railway station too

NELLORE: Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu will flag off the Gudur-Tirupati fast passenger train at Gudur railway station on Thursday.

The train (No. 212/211), which was announced in the Railway Budget, will leave Gudur station at 11.30 a.m. and reach Tirupati on the same day at 1.40 p.m. In the return journey the train will leave Tirupati at 2.30 p.m. and reach Gudur at 4.45 p.m.

The Union Minister will also lay a foundation stone for modernisation works of Gudur station.

As part of the programme, works pertaining to extension of platform number one and island platform numbers two and three to hold 26-coach train would be taken up.

Also, lighting facilities at platforms would be improved, Light Emitting Diode (LED) based train arrival and departure would be provided and coach indication boards would be installed on platforms.

The flagging of ceremony will be held at 11.30 a.m, in which Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Panabaka Lakshmi, School Education Minister N Rajyalakshmi, Gudur MLA P Prakasha Rao and South Central Railway General Manager D N Mathur and others will participated.
