Sangareddy: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has asked the UPA Government at the Centre not to divert from the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) and warned that it would join forces with the non- Congress and non-BJP political parties to fight against UPA's anti-people policies. Addressing a public meeting here on Tuesday, CPI (M) State secretariat member S. Veeraiah alleged that the Union Government had not been sticking to the common path agreed upon by all the political partners. He added that the Congress had failed to fulfil its poll time promises made to the common man.
Highlighting failures
He said that his party would intensify its nation wide awareness programme highlighting the failures of the Congress party and would try to create a common platform of secular parties to fight against the UPA's policies. He alleged that the Union Government had put the national security at stake by signing the nuclear agreement with the USA. Mr. Veeraiah pointed out that the Congress and even the TDP and the TRS had been procrastinating the introduction of 33 percent reservation to women bill and the minority reservation bill in the State. Earlier the CPI (M) activists protesting against the policies implemented by the Union and State Governments had organised a massive rally from the Ganj maidan to the new bus stand.
