2 lorry drivers hurt

VIJAYAWADA: Two lorry drivers were injured when a mini-lorry hit another vehicle coming in the opposite direction at Enikepadu junction in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Patamata police said that the accident occurred when the driver of a lorry, who was on his way to Gannavaram from the city, applied sudden brake at the junction. V. Subba Rao, driver of a soil-laden lorry going in the same direction, too, applied a sudden brake and sustained a simple injury on his forehead. A mini-lorry driver Kishan Kumar, who was following Subba Rao's vehicle, tried to overtake the two vehicles and hit another lorry coming in the opposite direction. Kishan Kumar sustained minor injuries.
