VIJAYAWADA: Many traders voluntarily moved to Mahatma Gandhi wholesale commercial complex in Gollapudi from One Town in the city on Tuesday. Wholesale traders, particularly those who have membership in the Gollapudi complex, packed up and vacated their premises, leaving just a sign board indicating the shift. But the change was evident more on Canal Road, where offices of transporters too were sealed, than in the narrow streets of One Town, where it was business as usual. This was attributed to the lack of clarity about the basis on which the officials differentiated a wholesale trader from a retail trader. Vice-Chairman of VGTM-Urban Development Authority Y.S. Prasad told The Hindu that 110 shops were sealed as on Tuesday evening.
