No lead yet in murder case

MANGALORE: Police are yet to make any breakthrough in the murder of Vidyadar Jain (35) Rayee Gram Panchayat member who was murdered by a group of eight persons at Kannadikatte in Padangady village of Belthangady taluk on Monday evening. The victim, who was going to Venoor from Guruvayanakere on a motorcycle with his friend Iqbal, was confronted by a group and assaulted.

The group chased him and hacked him to death at a nearby field.

According to Subashchandra, Belthangady police inspector, the victim had 32 injury marks on his body.
