Two killed in accident

Thiruvananthapuram: Two persons were killed on the spot and one was injured when the brick-laden lorry in which they were travelling overturned at Kallupalam, near Marthandam, early Tuesday.

The deceased were identified by Medical College authorities as Vijayan, 35, and Maniyan, 36, both natives of Ambalakkada in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu.

Kumar, 21, also from Ambalakkada, who was injured, was admitted to Medical College Hospital.

Thiruvananthapuram: The free rice scheme for students during Onam will be inaugurated by Minister for Food C. Divakaran at Thycaud Government Model High School on Wednesday, said an official release here on Tuesday. — Staff Reporter
