Fish weighing 200 kg caught
Special Correspondent
KOLKATA:
A fish, weighing close to 200 kg, was caught by fishermen in the deep sea off the shores off Kakdwip in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on Wednesday. The fishermen were as surprised as those who flocked to take a look at it as it lay at the fish auction centre in Howrah where it was taken.
It took the fishermen nearly two hours to haul the mammoth fish, more than four foot long, into their trawler. Neither they nor their colleagues in the trade could quite identify the species to which it might belong. A bidder at the auction centre bought the fish for Rs. 2,100 and brought it to the fish market in Beliaghata area..
