New Chief Secretary

Pondicherry: Pradip Mehra, an IAS officer from New Delhi (AGMU Cadre), has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Pondicherry. He will succeed C.S. Khairwal, who retires on August 31, an official source said here on Wednesday. Mr. Mehra would assume charge on September 1. Mr. Khairwal told The Hindu that he would, however, function as the Chairman of the Pondy Information Commission.
