Huawei Technologies to invest $100 m

BANGALORE: Chinese telecom major Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. will invest $100 million to scale up its India operations by building its own facility and increasing the engineering workforce to 2,000 from the existing 1,200, a company official said here on Wednesday. Huawei's wholly-owned Indian subsidiary, Huawei Technologies India Pvt. Ltd., now operates out of three rented facilities here. The new facility would be operational by the end of 2008.
