BJP extends support to Kerala legislation

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala BJP president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai on Wednesday said that his party's backing was inevitable to get the Kerala legislation governing self-financing professional colleges included in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.

At a press conference here, he said the State unit of the party was ready to use its good offices to ensure the party's support in Parliament for including the Act in the Ninth Schedule. He said the Bill on self-financing professional colleges was passed unanimously by the LDF and the UDF in the State Assembly. Both the fronts stopped discussing the need for having the legislation brought under the Ninth Schedule.
