Asian circuit beach volleyball in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad will host the Asian circuit beach volleyball championship in February next year, said L.Venkatram Reddy, secretary of AP Volleyball Association to The Hindu on Wednesday. He said that this was decided after the Volleyball Federation of India offered Andhra Pradesh the chance to host the event. Earlier, VFI was allotted the championship by the Asian body.

Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Qatar, Kuwait and Iran will take part in the double-leg event which is to be organised at two different venues.

Meanwhile, he also announced that Visakhapatnam will host the second `Test' (November 13) and Hyderabad the third `Test' (November 15) against the visiting Pakistan team in the volleyball series to be held in India in November.

Punjab or Delhi, and Chennai would host the other `Test' matches, he added.
