PATNA: The Income Tax (IT) Department on Wednesday conducted raids at 12 steel manufacturing units in Bihar.

Official sources said here that IT sleuths cracked down simultaneously at the offices, factories and residences of the steel manufacturing units in the State, specially in the State Capital. The raids had been on since morning. One of the prominent steel manufacturers, whose residence, office and factory were being raided, belonged to Dadiji steel-Kamdhenu Sariya, owned by R C Gupta. The IT personnel had extensively searched the residence of Mr Gupta at Santosh Complex. Several documents, financial investment papers, property-related documents and other things were recovered during the raid, sources added.- UNI
