Falls to death

Thiruvananthapuram: A 50-year-old man died after he slipped and fell off a tree at Chavadimukku on Wednesday. He was identified as Babu of Kattayikkonam, Pothencode. The body has been kept in the mortuary of Medical College hospital.

Thiruvananthapuram: A baby girl, just a day old and found abandoned in a deserted place near the Bishop's House Neyyattinkara, was brought to the SAT Hospital by the local police on Wednesday, hospital authorities said.

Union's demand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala PSC Employees Union has demanded the handing over of appointments to the Devaswom Boards and the universities to the PSC. General secretary of the Union J.S. Rajesh said on Wednesday it would bring to an end complaints about the widespread corruption taking place in the appointments to these institutions.
