The police said Abijith (12), who was on his way to school, was killed after a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus hit him at the junction of Indiranagar 100-feet Road and Old Madras Road.

Around 8.30 a.m., Abijith and a few other children were crossing the road at the junction when the bus hit him. He was a sixth standard student of Holy Cross School in Indiranagar, the police said.

His father Prakash owns a paint and tiles shop in Cottonpet.

In the other accident, Lakshmana (4) was killed after a lorry hit him while he was playing on Vinayakanagar Main Road in Chandra Layout around 11.15 a.m.

Lakshamana's father Mallapa is a construction worker and a native of Deodurga taluk in Raichur district, the police said. The Byatarayanapura traffic police have seized the lorry and registered a case.
