Special trains from city to Ernakulam

BANGALORE: The South Western Railway (SWR) will operate special trains between Ernakulam and Bangalore City to clear the extra rush during Onam festival.

The Ernakulam-Bangalore City-Ernakulam Superfast Special (0641) will leave Ernakulam at 5 p.m. on September 4 and 11 and reach Bangalore at 4.20 a.m. the next day.

The Bangalore City-Ernakulam Special (0642) will leave Bangalore at 5.15 p.m. on September 5 and 12 and reach Ernakulam at 4.30 a.m. the next day.

The train will run via Alwaye, Trichur, Ottapalam, Palghat, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Tirupathur, Bangarpet, Krishnarajapuram and Bangalore Cantonment to reach Bangalore City.

They will have a composition of one two-tier AC coach, two three-tier AC coaches, 12 three-tier second-class sleeper coaches, three general second class coaches and two second class cum luggage vans. The Ernakulam-Bangalore City special (0655) will leave Ernakulam at 5 p.m. on August 31 and September 7 and reach Bangalore at 4.20 a.m. the next day. The Bangalore City-Ernakulam Special (0656) will leave Bangalore at 6.55 p.m. on September 1 and September 8 and reach Ernakulam at 6.30 a.m. the next day.

The Bangalore City-Ernakulam Superfast Special (0675) will leave Bangalore city at 5.15 p.m. on September 2 and 9 and reach Ernakulam at 4.30 a.m. the next day.

Super-fast

The Ernakulam-Bangalore City Super-fast Special (0676) will leave Ernakulam at 6.30 p.m. on September 3 and 10 and reach Bangalore at 7.15 a.m. the next day.

The Bangalore City-Hubli-Bangalore City bi-weekly Express (0689/0690) has been extended for three months as detailed below: The Bangalore City-Hubli Special (0689) will lave Bangalore on Thursdays and Saturdays at 11 p.m. and reach Hubli at 7.10 a.m. the next day.

Extended service

The first extended service from Bangalore city will be on September 2 and the last service will be on November 30.

The Hubli-Bangalore City Special (0690) will leave Hubli on Fridays and Sundays at 10.50 p.m. and reach Bangalore at 8 a.m. the next day. The first extended service from Hubli will be on September 1 and the last service on November 26.
