CHENNAI:
These differently-abled children had reason to smile on Tuesday.
The occasion was a function organised by the Murthuzaviya Educational and Cultural Foundation of South India to distribute uniforms and prizes to students of its educational institutions in the city.
"Improve skills"
On the occasion, K. Mohamed Meeran, Chairman and Managing Director, G.M. Pens International Pvt. Ltd., urged the students to improve their skill in English, mathematics, and accountancy.
He thanked the teachers of the mentally challenged students for their caring service and assured them of the company's assistance in providing jobs to the students.
The foundation, started in 1952, runs Murthuzaviya Oriental Higher Secondary School and a school for mentally challenged and the hearing impaired.
S.K. Khadri, president of the foundation, announced that a charitable hospital costing Rs.1 crore was being constructed at Kondungaiyur.
