Intelligence, self-confidence, perseverance and hard work these are qualities necessary to reach pinnacle of career and succeed in one's life; being straightforward and modest are other tools to succeed in professional life, said Collector R. Vasuki while honouring district toppers in SSLC examinations at a function organised by Daily Thanthi, a Tamil daily, in Dindigul on Tuesday. The main aim of honouring meritorious students was to encourage them to scale greater heights and encourage other students to work hard. Today's students were the hopes for a better tomorrow. Teaching should develop cognitive and linguistic coordination, enriching verbal proficiency and language competence. Teachers should urge children to improve their concentration, she said. In his address, Chief Educational Officer Rama. Pandurengan stressed the importance of learning and understanding. Those who were honoured on the occasion were the district top three rankers, M. Balanaga Gopalakrishnan and R. Muralidharan of MSP Solai Nadar Higher Secondary School, G. Karthikeyan of JRC School, and Kothayam and M. Swathi of St. Joseph's Higher Secondary School. Certificates were given to schools that produced toppers.
