"Site for IT Park ideally situated"

SALEM: ELCOT managing director Umashankar on Thursday inspected the proposed site for the Information Technology Park at Salem.

On his arrival at the site at Ammapalayam, near here, he held discussions with Collector N. Mathivanan and other revenue officials on developing the land to suit the IT Park requirements.

"The Salem IT Park is ideally situated on the Salem-Bangalore National Highway," he said and hoped that it would invite prospective developers in the field.

He asked the officials to clear encroachments, if any, and also attach another 23 acres of land abetting the park for its development.

The district administration has already identified 100 acres of land for this purpose.
