Tara Iyer in quarterfinals

NEW DELHI: Recently crowned National junior champion Tara Iyer made the quarterfinals of the $10,000 ITF women's tennis tournament at Istanbul with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory over sixth-seeded Kristina Grigorian of Russia.

The 18-year-old Tara had earlier over-powered Julia Livotova of Russia 6-1, 6-1 in the first round.
