I am fit: Bond

Mumbai: New Zealand's fast bowler Shane Bond said injuries are part and parcel of cricket and that he doesn't get irritated, forced to stay away from the limelight even when doing well.

"As long as New Zealand performs well as a team and lifts its profile, I am comfortable with it. Cricket is a team sport and achieving excellence as a team is important in New Zealand," said the 31-year-old at the launch of a custom-made footwear for fast bowlers here on Thursday.

Bond has not sent down a ball after breaking down in the opening tour match in South Africa early this year. "I am fully fit now and training in New Zealand. It's cold at home with the temperature around three or four degrees and I find it difficult. So I do most of my training indoors. My fitness levels and body are 100 per cent fine, so I am looking forward to play in the Champions Trophy, if selected.

"It's been a bit frustrating to be hit by injuries. I think across the world now it's difficult on the body of fast bowlers. There are problems with injuries with the Indian, England, and other teams. All of us are looking for things that can keep us on the field for a longer period of time,'' he said. — Special Correspondent
