Karimnagar student creates a flutter

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: An Intermediate student from Karimnagar created a flutter in the Secretariat on Thursday night by threatening to jump down from `D' block building.

The youth belonging to a BC community, K. Narasimgham, hails from Nusthulapuram village and is a second year Intermediate student of Sahiti Junior College of Karimnagar. Family problems led him to try to join a BC hostel but he could not as the town did not have such a hostel. He tried to join the SC hostel under the five per cent quota for BCs there but having got no response from the authorities, he came to the city, got an entry pass into the Secretariat and met the Social Welfare Minister Redya Naik in `D' block. He also met officials of the CM's office in `C' block but there was no response. Narasimgham then climbed to the top of `D' block where he met the Minister and called for the media presence to highlight his plight. He threatened to commit suicide by jumping down but the police in the premises reached the terrace using a rear staircase and apprehended him. Saifabad Inspector K.V. Ramanarasimha Reddy said a case has been booked.
