Court faults police for not registering complaints

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Justice G. Raghuram of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday indicated that it was time for the police establishment to take appropriate steps to see that complaints of cognizable offences were registered by the police stations concerned without any delay. The judge took a serious view of the attitude of the police while dealing with a writ petition wherein Susheela of Devarapalli of Prakasam district, complained that the police at the Parchur police station had not registered the complaint lodged by her and others that they were being assaulted.
