HYDERABAD:
The Government will pull out all the stops to patronise Urdu, Information Minister Mohd. Ali Shabbir said on Thursday evening at the launch of the Hyderabad edition of "Roznama Rashtriya Sahara", the seventh Urdu edition of Sahara India Pariwar.
Mr. Shabbir said the Government would soon double the allocation of Rs. 1 crore to the Urdu Academy. In order to remove apprehensions that studying Urdu would not fetch jobs, he said learning the language would be linked to employment opportunities for minority youth.
Earlier, Union Minister for Urban Development S. Jaipal Reddy called from Chennai and congratulated the newspaper's management. Expressing his inability to get away from a meeting and fly down here, he lauded the Sahara India Pariwar's initiative in bringing out a Hyderabad edition.
Members of Parliament, Abu Asim Azmi and Moulana Mahmood Madni, Maharashtra's Minister for Waqf and Dairy Development, Anis Ahmed, Bihar's Minister for Housing, Munazir Hussain, Roznama Rashtriya Sahara's Printer and Publisher and Editor, Zia Qadree and Aziz Burney, were present.
