THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A panicked elephant disrupted traffic for nearly five hours on the arterial Peroorkada-Nedumangadu road. The mahouts of the captive elephant fled the spot after the elephant showed signs of restiveness around 1.30 p.m. The elephant was tranquillised around 6 p.m. on the orders of the Revenue Divisional Officer. One Radhakrishnan, a local resident, reportedly fell into a well after he was chased by the agitated pachyderm. The elephant is owned by one Prasanth alias Guruji of Nettayam.
