Council for Child Welfare celebrates Onam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The toddlers of the State Child Welfare Council celebrated Onam in the company of politicians and film stars on Friday afternoon. All the 24 inmates of the council and the staff had a memorable Onam feast.

The guests included Minister for Health P.K. Sreemathy, Pannian Ravindran, MP, actor Prithvi Raj, and V. Sivankutty, MLA. The feast was followed by the distribution of `Onakkodi' to the inmates. Most of the children looked puzzled and confused and some even cried aloud in protest as dignitaries took turns to greet them amidst flickering camera lights. A competition in flower carpet arrangement was also held.
