KOZHIKODE: Somen Debnath, 23, of Sunderban Village in West Bengal, has been cycling his way to eliminate the world of AIDS by 2020. Mr. Debnath, on his way to Kannur, reached Kozhikode on Monday. He began his journey on May 27, 2004. He has now pedalled more than 44,000 km covering four countries other than India - Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Myanmar. In India he has already covered 14 States (Kerala was the 15th State) and two Union Territories. Mr. Debnath, who covers mainly schools and colleges, clubs like Rotary, Lions etc., and red light areas in his journey, says he would cover 191 countries by 2020. He demonstrates before schools and colleges how one can control one's body using yoga and thus shield oneself from this deadly disease. He met 15 Governors and 13 Chief Ministers during his journey.
