PSPB, RSPB in semifinals

BANGALORE: Petroleum Sports Promotion Board, Railway Sports Promotion Board and Banks Sports Board progressed to the last four stage in the women's section of the all-India inter institutional table tennis tournament at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Friday.

The fourth team in the semifinals will be spotted after Saturday's morning fixtures.

The women's section suffered a drop-out as LIC failed to muster up enough players to represent the side.

Two players had arrived from Kolkota but the other three did not show up. Ironically LIC is one of the major sponsors of the tournament.

In the men's section, the top-seeded PSPB blanked its lesser-fancied opponents in all its day's league matches winning by the highest margin.
