I am still good enough: Ganguly

New Delhi: Sourav Ganguly on Friday said he was still good enough to play for India and the selectors could not ignore him if he scored well in domestic matches.

The former captain said he was hoping to score a lot of runs in domestic cricket to prove that some good years of cricket were still left in him.

Refusing to put the blame on one particular person for his unceremonious ouster, Ganguly said it hurt him a lot to be left out of a team he had led for so many years, but he was still not disheartened.

It hurts

``Obviously it hurts and it will hurt not just me, but anyone. But I do not let that dampen my spirits and I keep my hopes alive. I think I am in serious contention for the World Cup and that it would be difficult for the selectors to ignore me if I continue to score big runs in domestic cricket,'' he said in an interview to CNN-IBN.

``I want to score runs, runs and more runs so that the world realises that there's lots of cricket left in me,'' the Bengal left-hander said.

"... The selectors look at a host of issues and then pick a side, perhaps I am not fitting into their scheme of things at this point of time, but that does not mean the life is over, '' he added. — PTI
