Randhawa soars to tied 7th

Johor Bahru (Malaysia): Jyoti Randhawa carded a scintillating eight-under 64 to leapfrog to tied seventh position as seven Indians made the cut in the $3,00,000 Malaysian Masters here on Friday.

South African Anton Haig is atop the table at 15-under 129.

Shiv Kapur carded his second successive round of 68 and took his tally to eight-under 136 for tied 17th, which he shares with, among others, Digvijay Singh who also returned his second successive card of 68.

Gaurav Ghei (137), S.S.P. Chowrasia, Gurbaaz Mann (138) and Arjun Singh (139) were the other Indians who made the cut.

At Ito (Japan), Jeev Milkha Singh turned in a card of one-over 72 and was tied 16th at the end of the second round of the Fujisankei Classic golf.

Shingo Katayama had a one-stroke lead over Taichi Teshima who shot a 67 on Friday.

The clubhouse leader with two complete rounds was Yano Azuma, who had rounds of 70 and 69 and was three-under for 36 holes.— UNI, PTI
