RAMANATHAPURAM: A special police team has been formed to nab a gang involved in a liquor smuggling racket, Abahy Kumar Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ramanathauram range. The racket was busted on Wednesday following the seizure of a lorry that transported liquor bottles. He said the police were on the look out of one Babu of Villupuram, who was believed to be the kingpin. Three persons, including the driver and cleaner of a lorry, were arrested and 4,960 bottles of liquor seized. The liquor bottles were being brought to Kalaiyarkoil from Pondicherry. Preliminary investigation revealed that six persons were involved in the case.
