PDP's internal matter: Congress

No problem for the alliance in Jammu and Kashmir: Singhvi

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Friday asserted that the decision of the Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party (PDP) to nominate a new leader for its Legislature Party was "an internal matter" of that party.

"There is no question of the Congress or Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad deciding on who should be the PDP nominee. It is not possible," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.

Party nominee

The comment came in response to a question whether the Congress-PDP arrangement was in trouble and on the verge of parting of ways. "There is no question of any move of any kind affecting the stability of the Government."

Mr. Singhvi said the PDP also told the Congress that it would communicate who would be the party nominee for the post of Deputy Chief Minister in the place of Muzaffer Hussain Beigh.
