Four injured in explosion

BANGALORE: Four persons were injured in an explosion caused by leakage of gas from an LPG cylinder at a restaurant in Sampangiramnagar police station limits on Friday.

The police said the incident occurred around 12.45 p.m. at Ranganna Refreshments situated behind Pallavi cinema on 4th Cross, Sampangiramnagar. Furniture and other articles at the restaurant were destroyed in the fire that broke out following the explosion. Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and put out the fire. The proprietor of the hotel, Rukmangadha (35), cooks Suresh (24) and Prasad (23), and cleaner Mustafa (22) suffered burns. They were treated at a private hospital in Sampangiramnagar and later admitted to Victoria Hospital.

All of them are recovering and are out of danger, the police said. The Sampangiramnagar police have registered a case.
